Inspection of New Rails for SRO
The Saudi Railway Organization (SRO) hired SYSTRA Canada (formerly CANARAIL) to perform factory acceptance tests for newly manufactured rails before shipment authorization.
SYSTRA Canada assigned a railway engineer and a senior technician to the mandate. They travelled to the factory in Austria, physically inspected the rails by taking measurements, and conducted metallurgical tests to determine hardness as well as their chemical properties.
SYSTRA Canada was mandated to:
- Provide a certificate which authorised the factory to ship the rails;
- Prepare report for SRO detailing their work.
