SYSTRA CANADA & ALTAMETRIS Join Forces to Bring Innovation to Canada

ALTAMETRIS is a firm that specializes in providing data for the intelligent management of industrial assets. It embodies excellence in the secured collection of data by drones and other air modes. Following participation to the conference Le rail, un axe de développement majeur (Rail, a Major Development Axis) organized by the AQTR (Transport Quebec Association) at the end of 2018, the firm decided to join forces with SYSTRA Canada.

SYSTRA Canada (formerly CANARAIL) has been providing railway engineering and consulting services, in Canada and abroad, for the past 28 years and has become, thanks to its excellent knowledge of the local market, the obvious ‘go to’ partner for the company.

This partnership will enable rail and transport players (operators, infrastructure and rolling stock managers), in Canada, to benefit from an integrated solution that combines ALTAMETRIS’ innovative mobile vector collection and data recovery solutions, as well as SYSTRA’s engineering and design solutions in Canada.

Whether for topography/mapping, material or infrastructure inspection missions (tracks, catenaries, signalling or infrastructures), or as part of the implementation of a global asset management solution (built, for example, around their digitalization and BIM), the SYSTRA/ALTAMETRIS partnership will allow the deployment of innovative solutions for the use of drones to enable the collection of better quality railway equipment data and thus guarantee the optimization of their interpretation and management.

Thanks to ALTAMETRIS’ know-how, it will now be possible to collect high-quality, objective, geo-referenced data without degrading the performance of the assets visited, i.e. without stopping rail traffic or industrial production at the sites. In addition, these solutions are praised for their high security for both, people and infrastructures. As a result, they make it possible to limit human exposure to any danger, while increasing the quality of the acquired field data.

SYSTRA Canada and ALTAMETRIS are therefore pleased to announce the signing of an exclusive agreement in Canada that will allow asset managers across the country to benefit from new services dedicated to performance optimization.

ALTAMETRIS, leader in France in the control of robotic aerial means (drones, helicopters) to produce qualitative data for the optimization of infrastructures and network management, is beginning its international expansion.

ALTAMETRIS is a 100% spin-off of SNCF Réseau since April 2017. The company also has more than 6 years of experience as an Intra-company of the SNCF Group. ALTAMETRIS currently has more than 35 employees, including a team of Doctors and Engineers specialized in the development of data processing algorithms.

ALTAMETRIS benefits from a strong and steady growth, as well as a sound financial base. Mr. Nicolas Pollet, one of the founders and Doctor in Geology, in the General Manager.

ALTAMETRIS’ main clients include the French National Railways (SNCF), Électricité de France (EDF), Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE), ENEDIS (Power grid operator) and Office National Des Forets (Manager of state forests, city forests and biological reserves). The company is also in partnership with ONERA (French national aerospace research centre), EurailScout (entity monitoring the Condition of the Railway Infrastructure) and the Swiss Federal Railways.

The firm participates on a regular basis to the studies of various representative entities in France and on a European level with EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency).

More specifically, the firm is capable of deploying long-elongation-airplane-type drones in a night off-sight scenario. The company also participates in numerous research studies on various themes such as archaeology, autonomous trains, robotics, artificial intelligence and machine learning.

ALTAMETRIS focuses its offer on areas such as topography, inspections, safety, communication or consulting. ALTAMETRIS has the ambition to be the global leader on its market by 2020 and is therefore looking to strengthen its presence in France and abroad with major infrastructure and network operators.
