Operation & Maintenance

SYSTRA Canada has been involved in railway operations planning nationally and internationally for more than 20 years.

While our focus has been primarily heavy haul railways for mining companies in Asia, Africa and North America, we have also been actively involved in developing operation and capacity improvements for all types of railway, ranging from narrow gauge railways to Russian broad gauge, including a mix of both freight and medium-speed passenger traffic. Our operations team includes people who have a primary experience in Canadian heavy haul railways and others who have working experience in European and Asian railway networks.

SYSTRA Canada’s way to operate in every instance is to first maximize the efficiency that can be achieved with the existing infrastructure and available equipment, through the application of proven operating practices and techniques, followed by an improvement plan that introduces new technology, new equipment and operating methods that simultaneously recognizes local conditions.

SYSTRA Canada has gained an international reputation for its operations strategies and references are available on demand.
